Setting COM Ports to Auto-Open

Enable serial devices like the GSI 61 and TympStar to transmit data to AudBase without the need to manually open serial ports first.

  • Log into AudBase
  • From the Home Screen, Select File from menu bar along the top of the application, and then select Preferences.



  • Select Audiology (4 - Machine Specific)
  • Select the Assignments/Settings Button at the lower right side of the preferences window.




    From the Assignments/Settings Menu Screen:

  • Verify that there is a check mark in the box for “Auto-open serial ports”.
  • Verify that the box for “Auto-open for new records only” is NOT checked.


  • Select Update at the bottom of the window.
  • Close Preferences with the button at the bottom left of the Preferences window.\
